Nelda Smith “Aunt Nell” Bettes, 74, of Alexandria died on the evening of March 11 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Ms. Bettes was the daughter of the late Bill and Beatrice Hardin Smith of Statesville. She was a longtime employee of Performance Food Group and the Alexandria Cafe.
